Aikin HyperSearch

The standard search function that Windows provides rarely provides satisfying results. If your keywords are not accurate down to the last letter, you will never find the files you are looking for. In other cases, the search results may contain nothing but irrelevant files, like DLLs. Aikin HyperSearch provides a reliable search feature which exceeds the operating system's capabilities. Thanks to its advanced indexing techniques and textual patter recognition algorithms, the software can locate your files, documents, emails, contacts or other data, even if you misspell or completely distort the keywords.

Aikin HyperSearch is free to try for 30 days, but it doesn't have any other restrictions. It works on Windows Vista, Win 7 and Win 8, but only in 64-bit versions. Installing the software does not take long. Additionally, the setup wizard allows you to opt for a typical, custom or complete installation.

The main user interface is clean and efficient, so you won't have to waste time studying individual options. You can type your keywords in the upper left corner of the window and hit the Enter key or click a Search icon. As you type your keywords, the software will display suggestions, which include indexed files, emails or contact names. The search results are displayed instantly, on different tabs, depending on the content type. You can access different results categories, like names and subjects, contents, emails or keyword tags. It is also possible to filter the results, to include or exclude specific file types.

You can index folders, favorites from web browsers and MS Outlook items, on a separate window. All you have to do is click a few check boxes, select one or more folders and click a series of Scan buttons. When you search for something in particular, the software will also display related items, with similar names. Of course, the results with the best match to your keywords are still kept on top of the list or close to the top. The best part about Aikin HyperSearch is that it can locate any items, even if your keywords are incorrect. For example, if you are looking for a certain file or contact, but you don't remember the name, you can just type a word that sounds like the name you are looking for.
